Friendships slip because life is busy.
Not because anyone stopped caring. Almost everybody we described this app to said a version of the same thing: there are three or four people they think about often and see almost never.
Why it exists
The reminder was never the hard part.
Knowing you should call someone isn't the problem. Getting six adults into the same room on the same evening is.
There are good apps for remembering people, and good apps for organising events. Between them sits the bit that actually stops the catch-up happening: turning a vague intention into a date that five or six busy adults have all agreed to.
That work usually happens in a group chat, over about forty messages, across four days, until somebody gives up and the whole thing quietly dies. Everybody involved wanted it to happen. It still didn't.
KalaBond exists to close that gap. The nudge to see someone and the tools to organise it are the same feature, not two apps and a copy-paste in between. That's the entire idea, and every decision below follows from it.

These aren't marketing lines — they're the constraints the product is built under, and the reasons certain obvious features aren't in it.
A nudge, never a telling-off
The people this is for are already stretched thin. An app that counts your failures at friendship isn't help, it's another thing to feel bad about. So there are no streaks, no red badges, and no "47 days since you spoke to Sam". A ring shifts from turquoise toward coral. You take the hint or you don't.
Your friends shouldn't need our app
Anything that requires everyone to install something before a decision can be made is dead before it starts. Invitees open a link in whatever browser they've got, type their name, and vote. No account, no download, no gatekeeping. The person organising carries the app; nobody else has to.
Your contact list is not a product
Who you know and how close you are to them is about as personal as data gets. There is no advertising, no data broking, no "partner" with a copy, and no analytics built to be sold on. We'd rather charge for software than quietly sell the people using it.
Nothing is sent on your behalf
KalaBond will happily draft a message when you can't find the words — and then hand it to you to change. It is always a draft in a box you can edit, never a message that goes out by itself. The same goes for suggested places: options to consider, not decisions already made.
It should fit a family dinner as well as a Friday night
Plenty of apps in this space are built for one kind of social life — young, urban, spontaneous. Real circles are messier than that: extended family, people from church, old school friends, the couple you've been meaning to have over since March. Groups are yours to name, cadences run from weekly to yearly, and nothing in the tone assumes you're twenty-two.

KalaBond is in active development and being tested privately. We'd rather tell you that than dress up a waitlist as a launch.
