Terms
The deal, in full.
This is the agreement between you and the company that makes KalaBond. It is deliberately short. If something here reads like it's hiding something, tell us and we'll fix the wording.

Who these terms are with
KalaBond is made by Kala-X Technology Pty Ltd, a company based in Perth, Western Australia. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean that company, and "you" means whoever is using KalaBond.
What they cover
The KalaBond website at kalabond.com, the KalaBond web app, the KalaBond mobile apps, and the shared voting links people open in a browser without an account. Using any of those means you accept these terms.
How we handle personal information is a separate document, and the more important one — read the privacy policy. It forms part of this agreement.
Your account
- KalaBond is for adults. Don't create an account if you're under 16.
- Use an email address you actually control, and keep your password to yourself. Anything done from your account is treated as done by you.
- One account is one person. Don't share a login, and don't create an account on someone else's behalf without them knowing.
- If you think someone else has got into your account, tell us at support@kalabond.com.
What KalaBond is — and isn't
KalaBond is a private notebook and planning tool for keeping up with people you already know. It reminds you, it helps you word a message, and it collects everyone's availability in one place.
It is not a messaging service and it never speaks for you. KalaBond can open your own messaging app with a draft ready to send, and that is where its involvement ends — you read it, you edit it, you press send. KalaBond does not send the drafted message to the recipient for you.
Reminders are a convenience, not a guarantee. They depend on your device, its notification settings and its battery behaviour, so don't rely on KalaBond alone for anything that genuinely matters if it's missed.
The people you add
When you add someone to KalaBond you're putting details about a real person — someone who hasn't agreed to anything — into our system. That's your call to make, and with it comes a responsibility:
- Only add details you're entitled to hold, and only use them for keeping in touch, which is what this app is for.
- Don't use KalaBond to build a marketing list, to contact people who have asked you to stop, or for anything a reasonable person would call harassment.
- If someone asks you to remove their details, remove them. You can delete any contact from their card at any time.
What we do with those details is tightly limited, and set out in the privacy policy.
The AI features
KalaBond can draft a message and suggest places to meet. Both are optional, and both send a small amount of context to a third-party model provider — the personal context KalaBond sends for those features is described in the privacy policy.
- Everything it produces is a draft. Read it before you use it. Generated text can be wrong, oddly worded, or wrong for the person it's about, and you're the one sending it.
- Suggested places are starting points, not recommendations. They aren't paid placements and we don't endorse or vouch for any venue. Opening hours, prices, whether the place still exists — check before you turn up.
- The AI features may be limited, rate-limited or unavailable at times. They cost real money to run, and we'd rather cap them than charge you by surprise.
Shared voting links
A plan can be shared as a link that works without an account. Anyone holding that link can see the shared plan, including the names of other participants and their responses, votes and comments, and can take part in the plan themselves. So treat the link like an invitation you can't take back — send it to the people you meant to invite.
If you're voting through someone else's link, these terms apply to you too, for that visit.
How you may not use it
Short list, and none of it should be a surprise:
- Nothing illegal, and nothing that harasses, threatens or impersonates anyone.
- No scraping, bulk automated access, or scripted use of the AI features. One person using the app normally is the intended load.
- Don't try to reach data that isn't yours, probe for weaknesses, or work around the limits in the product. If you find a security problem, please do tell us at admin@kala-x.com rather than exploiting it — we'll take it seriously and we won't come after you for reporting it in good faith.
- Don't upload malware, or anything designed to break the service for others.
If an account is doing any of this, we may suspend or close it. Where it's reasonable to do so we'll tell you first and give you a chance to sort it out.
Your content stays yours
The contacts, plans, notes and preferences you put into KalaBond remain yours. We don't claim ownership of any of it.
To actually run the service we need permission to store it, back it up, and show it back to you and to the people you've invited to a plan — and, for the AI features, to send the limited context described in the privacy policy to our model provider. That permission is limited to operating KalaBond for you, and it ends when you delete the content or your account — except for the limited records we retain or anonymise after deletion, as described in the privacy policy. We do not use your content to advertise to anyone, and we do not sell it.
Availability and changes
KalaBond is a small product from a small company, offered as it is. We don't promise uninterrupted service, and features may be added, changed or removed as it develops. If we're going to remove something you rely on, or shut the service down, we'll give you reasonable notice and time to take your data with you.
Ending your account
You can stop using KalaBond at any time, and you can delete your account yourself from Settings → Privacy & account → Delete account in the app. Deleting is permanent: your contacts, groups, plans and history go with it and we cannot bring them back.
One deliberate exception, so it isn't a surprise. If you were invited to someone else's plan, your place on that plan stays after you delete — with your name and any comment you left removed, leaving an anonymous record of an RSVP. That's so deleting your account doesn't quietly rewrite another person's event. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
Deleting your account does not cancel a KalaBond Plus subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play — those are billed by Apple or Google, and you cancel one through the store account that bought it. Do that before you delete. The rest of how a subscription works is under KalaBond Plus subscriptions.
You can also ask us to delete your account by writing to support@kalabond.com. Both routes, and a plain list of what is removed and what is kept, are on the delete your account page.
What it costs
KalaBond currently includes a free plan, so you can use the app without buying KalaBond Plus. Nothing you already have will start charging you without you agreeing to it first.
Alongside it, KalaBond Plus is an optional paid plan, available as an auto-renewing subscription bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play — on a monthly or a yearly term. That is the only way to buy it: we don't take your card details and we never bill you directly. What Plus includes is described where it's offered in the app.
We don't print a price on this page, because we aren't the one showing it to you. The store displays the price, the currency and the renewal term on its own confirmation screen before you agree to anything, and prices vary by country and currency. That screen is the price, not anything written here.
KalaBond Plus subscriptions
If you take out KalaBond Plus, this is how it works. It's short because most of it isn't ours to run — the store bills it, and these are its rules as much as ours.
- It renews by itself. A monthly subscription renews each month and a yearly one each year, charged to your Apple or Google account, until you cancel it. That is what an auto-renewing subscription is, and there's no version of it that doesn't.
- You cancel it in the store, not in here. Apple Account settings on iOS, or Payments & subscriptions in Google Play on Android; in the app, Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription opens the right place. We don't cancel store subscriptions on your behalf; you manage cancellation through the store account that purchased it.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. It doesn't cut off what you've already paid for, and it isn't normally a refund of the period you're in: Plus keeps working to the end of that period and then stops.
- Refunds are the store's to give. Apple and Google take the payment, so a refund request goes to them under their own terms. Tell us anyway if something has gone wrong — we'll help you get to the right place, and we'd rather hear about it.
- Restoring a purchase. A subscription belongs to the store account that bought it. If you reinstall the app or move to a new phone, Restore purchases on the plan screen puts an existing subscription back on your KalaBond account.
- Prices and what's included can change. If the price of a renewal changes, the store will tell you or ask you first, in the way its own rules require, and you can cancel. A change never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Deleting your KalaBond account does not cancel the subscription. Apple or Google bills it, not us, so it keeps renewing until you cancel it with them, whether or not your KalaBond account still exists. Cancel in the store first, then delete. What is kept afterwards is set out on the delete your account page.
None of this affects your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, or under any other consumer protection law that applies to you and can't be excluded by agreement. Where a guarantee under one of those laws applies to a subscription and can't be excluded, nothing in this section limits it.
What we record about a subscription, and what survives deleting your account, is in the privacy policy — which forms part of this agreement.
Liability
KalaBond is provided on an "as is" basis. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, for a reminder that didn't arrive, for a draft message you sent, or for anything that happens at a venue the app suggested.
Nothing here takes away rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or under any other consumer protection law that applies to you and can't be excluded by agreement. Where a guarantee under that law applies and can't be excluded, our liability is limited to re-supplying the service, or paying the cost of having it re-supplied.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms we'll update the date at the top. If a change materially affects your rights, we'll tell you in the app or by email rather than quietly editing the page. Continuing to use KalaBond after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you don't, you can delete your account.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If you're a consumer somewhere else, this doesn't deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law where you live.
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands.
