Your account
Delete your KalaBond account.
You can delete your account yourself from inside the app, in about a minute. If you can no longer sign in, ask us and we'll do it. This page says how, and exactly what is removed, anonymised or kept.

Delete it from the app
If you can still sign in, this is the quickest route, and it is the only one that deletes the account immediately:
- Open KalaBond and go to Settings → Privacy & account → Delete account.
- A confirmation sheet opens. Nothing has been deleted yet. It lists what will go, what will stay, and reminds you that a store subscription is not cancelled by deleting the account.
- Type DELETE into the box. The delete button stays off until you have.
- Tap Delete my account permanently.
The deletion happens straight away, on our server, as you — there is no queue and no waiting period. You are signed out and the app returns to its welcome screen. It is permanent: there is no undo, and we cannot bring the account back afterwards.
This page cannot delete anything. There is no delete button on this website, on purpose: an account can only be deleted from inside the app by the person signed in to it, or by us after you've asked and we've confirmed it's you.
If you can't get into the app
If you've lost access to your phone, uninstalled the app, or can't sign in, email us and we'll delete the account for you:
- Write to support@kalabond.com with the subject "Delete my KalaBond account", or use the contact form and choose Privacy or my data.
- Tell us the email address your KalaBond account is registered under. That is normally all we need. Writing from that address is the simplest way to show the account is yours; if you can't, say so and we'll work out another way to confirm it with you.
Never send us your password, a sign-in code, or any card or payment details. We don't need them, we won't ask for them, and a message asking you for them isn't from us.
We may need to check with you first, so we don't delete someone's account on a stranger's say-so. We'll email you when it's done. A real person handles these; we don't promise a fixed turnaround, but we treat a deletion request as a priority and we won't leave you wondering.
What deletion removes
Deleting your account removes, from our database, everything the account owns:
- Your sign-in — the account itself, your email address and password, and every session.
- Your profile and settings — your name, default cadence, language, the city, postcode, country and search radius you typed in for venue suggestions, and your message-tone sample.
- Every contact — names, nicknames, phone numbers, birthdays, groups, how often you wanted to be in touch, and the dates you marked as caught up.
- Every group you made.
- Every plan you created, with everything in it — the people you invited, proposed times, venues, links, the bring-list, and all votes, RSVPs and comments on it, including those left by guests through a share link.
- Your AI usage record — the count of drafted messages and venue searches used against your monthly allowance.
- Your billing identity is unlinked — see the next section for what remains.
Reminders scheduled on your phone are cancelled by the app as it signs you out, and its local caches are cleared. Anything you added to your phone's own calendar stays there — it is in your calendar, not ours.
What may remain
We'd rather list this than have you find out later. A small amount of information is deliberately kept or anonymised, for these reasons only:
- Your place on someone else's plan — anonymised. If another person invited you to their plan, your entry on it is not deleted: your name is replaced with "Deleted participant", any comment you left is removed, and the link to your account is cut. Your RSVP and votes stay, so that deleting your account doesn't retract an answer the organiser had already counted and quietly rewrite their plan. What's left identifies nobody.
- Feedback you sent us — anonymised. If you ever reported a problem or sent a suggestion from inside the app, the report stays — but the link to your account is cut and whatever you wrote is removed with it, leaving only the technical details of the fault: which screen, which version, which error. We keep that much because a bug we are still fixing should not disappear because the person who found it has gone. What's left identifies nobody.
- Subscription and purchase records — kept. If you ever bought KalaBond Plus, the records of that subscription survive: an opaque billing identifier, the subscription's state and expiry, which product and store it came through, and the events the store sent us about it. They are no longer linked to a person. We keep them because a store subscription keeps running after the account is gone (see below), and a later renewal, refund, chargeback or dispute has to be recorded against something. RevenueCat, the subscription service we use, and Apple or Google keep their own corresponding records under their own policies.
- Limited administrative records — kept. If a member of our team ever looked up your account for support or granted it something, the log of that action stays, holding an opaque account identifier and the reason the team member typed — not your name or email.
- Support messages — kept separately. Anything you sent to support@kalabond.com or through the contact form lives in our support mailbox, not in your account, and is kept for 12 months after we've answered you so we have the thread if you come back. If you used the contact form, a copy of the message is also stored in our database, separately from your account. Deleting your account does not delete that copy, and it has no fixed deletion period yet; you can ask us to remove it at any time.
- Backups — temporarily. Deleted information may remain for a time in our database provider's encrypted backups, as part of its normal backup lifecycle. Backups exist to recover the service from a failure, not to restore a deleted KalaBond account.
We may keep something longer where the law requires it, but we won't keep it "just in case".
Your subscription is separate
Deleting your KalaBond account does not cancel a KalaBond Plus subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Store subscriptions are managed through the store account that bought them, not through KalaBond. If you delete your account without cancelling first, the subscription can keep renewing.
Cancel it in the store before you delete the account: in the app, Settings → Your plan → Manage subscription opens the right place, or go directly to your subscriptions in your Apple Account settings or in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions). Access you've already paid for runs to the end of the current period either way.
Before you go
You can take a copy of everything you've put into KalaBond first — contacts, groups, plans and settings, as a file you can keep — from Settings → Privacy & account → Download my data. Do it before deleting; there's nothing left to export afterwards.
If what you actually want is to remove one person from your contacts, or to stop reminders, you can do either from inside the app without deleting the account.
The privacy policy
Everything on this page is a plain-English summary of the retention and deletion section of our privacy policy, which is the full account of what we collect, who processes it and why. If the two ever disagree, tell us at support@kalabond.com and we'll fix the wording.
